The Open Membership Forum Series is a chance for members to interact directly with members of the USA Fencing staff, including our CEO.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Just like Willy Wonka opened the gates to his wondrous chocolate factory, USA Fencing is swinging open the doors to our members. No golden tickets required here — any active member is invited, as long as they have a passion for fencing and a desire to make their voice heard.

We’re calling it the Open Membership Forum Series, and it’s a chance for USA Fencing members to interact directly with members of the USA Fencing staff, including our CEO.

True, there’s no shortage of ways to contact USA Fencing’s staff. Members can use the suggestion box, approach one of us at a USA Fencing tournament, email information@usafencing.org, call 719-866-4511 or even drop a line to CEO Phil Andrews himself.

But in the spirit of openness that has come to define USA Fencing over the past year, we’re introducing one more way for members to engage in dialogue about whatever’s on their mind.

Any member in good standing — or a parent or guardian of a member — can attend an Open Membership Forum. They might ask a question or two or just tune in to hear what other people are asking.

We’re launching the series with three Open Membership Forums, with a fourth (or possibly a fifth) to be held during Summer Nationals next summer:

  • 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023 (online)

  • 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT Wednedsay, Jan. 17, 2024 (online

  • 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT Wednesday, April 10, 2024 (online)

  • TBA time and date during the 2024 Summer Nationals in Columbus, Ohio (in person)

Zoom links will be posted on social media and in this article for attendees to use.

Bring your questions, ideas or feedback and we’ll bring our listening ears and notepads. We’re excited to hear from you!
