The first NAC of the season wraps up after a successful weekend.

ORLANDO, Fl. -  On the final day of the 2023 October NAC, four more medalists were named at the top of the podium. After a weekend of fencing, the season has kicked off strong for many of the medalists.

Ainsley Boynton (Nazlymov Fencing Foundation) earned her best result today as she said “this is my first time doing all of this, so it’s just a really new experience and it has been really fun!” Boynton took home gold in Division II Women’s Saber, and was simply “really happy and really proud” of herself after a day of fencing.

Anne Cebula (New York Athletic Club / New York Fencing Academy) showed an incredible amount of emotion when she claimed gold in the Division I Women’s Epee category. Cebula said, “this is really satisfying, this is my first division one medal, it took like ten years!” She continued “it feels really great to wait this long and it came at the perfect time.”

The special moment for Cebula is a moment that will help propel her with the Olympic qualification as it fills a domestic result. She said “it fills a domestic spot, but the job is not yet over.” Not only was the result something Cebula had been working for, but she was able to see people she fenced against back home and said “I was meeting people that I fenced all the time back home, and it was such a mind trip, because it could be so even, it could be fourteen doubles and a single, and what matters is how can I make that single touch mine, today.”

Alexander Bezrodnov (Medeo Fencing Club) finished out the day claiming the final gold medal of the October NAC in Cadet Men’s Epee. Starting off the new season with a gold medal for Bezrodnov was a “really great” feeling.  He said “I didn’t do that well at summer nationals, and I started pools, and was a hundredth out of pools. I fenced insanely well, I just new I could do it.”
