(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Twenty-year-old Courtney Hurley (San Antonio, Texas) placed 12^th at the Sydney Epee World Cup in Australia on Saturday.

Hurley, a five-time Senior World Team member, earned her second top-16 finish of the Olympic qualifying season after placing sixth two weeks ago at the Nankin Grand Prix in China.

After advancing through the preliminary rounds on Saturday, Hurley won her table of 64 bout against Giulia Rizzi (ITA), 15-8.

In the table of 32, Hurley upset 2010 Senior World Champion Maureen Nisima (FRA), 15-14. Hurley lost her next bout, however, to In-Jeong (KOR), 15-11, in the table of 16.

Beijing Olympian Kelley Hurley (San Antonio, Texas) placed 44^th after a 15-8 loss to Tatiana Andrushina (RUS) in the table of 64.

Francesca Bassa (Houston, Texas) lost her table of 64 bout to Yujie Sun (CHN) and finished 57^th overall.

Susie Scanlan (Saint Paul, Minn.) finished 61^st after a loss in the table of 64 to two-time World medalist Emese Szasz (HUN).
