(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Two members of Team USA will meet in the first round of the direct elimination table at the Rio de Janeiro World Cup on Saturday.
Four-time World Team member Lindsay Campbell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won five of six bouts on Friday to advance to the table of 64 as the #27 seed.
Campbell’s NYAC teammate Maya Lawrence (Teaneck, N.J.) won five of six pool bouts and defeated 2009 World silver medalist Sherraine Schalm (CAN) in the preliminary table of 64 on Friday to qualify for competition on Saturday where she will compete against Campbell in the first round.
