USA Juniors Earn Silver, Two Bronze

USA Fencing juniors continued their winning ways around the globe last weekend at FIE Junior World Cups in Europe. Race Imboden (17, Brooklyn, N.Y./Empire United) captured his second Junior “A” Cup medal of the season, a silver at Alpe Adria Cup men’s foil competition in Lignano, Italy. Brian Kaneshige (17, Maplewood, N.J./Empire United) won bronze in Lignano, and two more Americans – Nobuo Bravo (16, San Francisco, Calif./Massialas) and Alexander Massialas (16, San Francisco, Calif./Massialas) – placed sixth and seventh, crowding out all other nations in the top eight.

In addition, Skyla Powers (15, Decatur, Ga./Nellya) won a bronze at the same event in the women’s saber competition. This is her second medal in as many competitions; she also won a silver at a Junior “A” Cup in Madrid in November.

Also this weekend, Grace Neveau (19, San Francisco, Calif./Golden Gate Fencing) placed sixth at a Junior “A” Women’s Epee cup in Dijon, France.
