2026 Board of Directors Election
Two At-Large Directors to be elected
Three At-Large Director positions are open as part of the 2026 USA Fencing Board of Directors election. As stipulated in the USA Fencing Bylaws, two seats will be filled through an election by the membership, and one seat was filled through Board appointment.
These seats were previously held by Molly Hill, Damien Lehfeldt and Abdel Salem OLY–EGY.
Two At-Large Director positions are up for election.
The two successful candidates will serve four-year terms beginning Sept. 1, 2026, and concluding Aug. 31, 2030.

One At-Large Director position was filled through Board appointment at the February 2026 Board of Directors meeting, in accordance with the USA Fencing Bylaws.
The Board appointed Jeremy Sirota to serve as an At-Large Director. His four-year term will begin Sept. 1, 2026.
Preferential Voting, Explained
USA Fencing Board of Directors elections use a preferential voting system known as the Borda Count.
In this system, voters rank candidates in order of preference. Each rank is assigned a point value. With seven candidates (as an example), points would be assigned as follows:
Rank 1 = 7 points
Rank 2 = 6 points
Rank 3 = 5 points
Rank 4 = 4 points
Rank 5 = 3 points
Rank 6 = 2 points
Rank 7 = 1 points
Each candidate receives points based on their ranking on each ballot. Candidates not ranked on a ballot receive no points from that ballot.
At the conclusion of the election, the two candidates with the highest total point values will be elected to the At-Large Director positions.
