USA Fencing and Absolute Fencing Gear Refurbishment Program Kicks off the 2024-25 Season at the October NAC
by Nicole Kirk
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The USA Fencing and Absolute Fencing Refurbishment Program launches next week at October NAC.
The Equipment Refurbishment Program encourages fencers to donate gently used gear while attending national tournaments, beginning with the October NAC in Atlantic City. Absolute Fencing will then refurbish that gear and deliver it to individuals and clubs that need it — prioritizing those fencers in under-resourced areas.
Here’s how the program works: USA Fencing will collect equipment at all national events (including Super Junior Cadet Circuits). Attendees will see a table for the program, and can donate their lightly used equipment to the person stationed there.
Once these items are collected and inventoried, Absolute Fencing will receive the donations to be refurbished and issued back out to the community.
What to Donate
Fencing Bags
Blades
Chest protector/guard
Electrical cords (body, face)
Gloves
Jackets
Lames (electrical vests)
Masks
Underarm protectors
Weapons
Pants
Scoring Equipment
Note: The donation list is not limited to just these items. If you think it'd be useful to the next fencer, feel free to bring it by.
