World-class sabre fencing comes to Salt Lake City Jan. 22–25 as Team USA competes on home soil at the Salt Palace.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — If your January calendar suddenly feels a little emptier than it should, USA Fencing has a solution — and it comes with blades, bursts of speed and some of the best athletes in the world.
Tickets are now on sale for the Absolute Fencing Gear FIE Sabre World Cup, set for Jan. 22–25, 2026, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hosted by USA Fencing, the event will bring international stars and Team USA sabre fencers together for four days of fast-paced, high-stakes competition.
For American fans, a World Cup on home soil is a special opportunity. These events are key stops on the international fencing circuit, drawing elite athletes from dozens of countries who are competing for medals, world ranking points and valuable experience against the best in the sport. Seeing it live offers a perspective no livestream can match — the sound of blades clashing, the tension before a referee’s call and the energy of a crowd reacting in real time.
Sabre fencing, one of the sport’s three weapons, is known for its speed and intensity. Unlike the other weapons, points can be scored with the edge of the blade as well as the tip, often leading to lightning-fast exchanges that are over almost as soon as they begin. It’s a fan-friendly introduction to fencing, even for spectators who are brand new to the sport.
USA Fencing has kept tickets affordable to make the event accessible for families, clubs and fans. Single-day passes are available for $10, while a full-event pass covering all four days is $30. Tickets can be purchased online through the official ticketing link, and spectators are encouraged to buy early.
Fans looking for an even closer view of the action can also consider volunteering. Volunteers receive free entry on the day they serve and help support everything from bout operations to athlete services. Volunteer opportunities and sign-ups are available online.
With Team USA competing in front of a home crowd and the world’s best sabre fencers converging on Salt Lake City, the Absolute Fencing Gear FIE Sabre World Cup promises a memorable start to 2026.
