Members are invited to vote on a new primary logo that represents all of USA Fencing — including parafencing — in a single, unified mark.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Fencing is one team made up of many athletes: standing and seated, Olympic and Paralympic, seasoned veterans and brand‑new fencers.

Now we’re asking members to help choose a logo that shows that unity in a single, inclusive mark.

After conversations with the USA Fencing Board, committees and the Athlete Council, and after reviewing concepts from inside and outside our sport, we’ve narrowed the search to two possible primary logos. Each is designed so that parafencing isn’t a separate add‑on but clearly part of who we are.

Option A places the fencer at the heart of the action, oriented directly toward the viewer. It’s an energetic, face-forward take that emphasizes connection, intensity and the feeling of being right on the strip.

Option B is a refined, zoomed‑in version of our current logo, adjusted so it can be seen as both Olympic fencing and Paralympic fencing while keeping a familiar feel.

It’s worth noting that, of the two, the Athlete Council prefers Option A. Now it’s your turn to weigh in.

Members can choose from three options on the voting form:

  • Option A
  • Option B
  • “I prefer to continue using the dual lockup logo” (USA Fencing plus USA Parafencing side by side)

The results will help determine which logo becomes our primary mark starting with the 2026–27 season, beginning in August 2026. We anticipate a transition period that year as the new logo appears across tournaments, gear and digital platforms, while the current dual logos remain available as secondary marks.

Take a look at the options, and then cast your vote. Note: Voting closes Jan. 5, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why change our logo?

We want our primary logo to match our values. USA Fencing is one community that includes parafencing, and we want that to be obvious at a glance — on jackets, livestreams, scoreboards and social media.

Many national governing bodies have refreshed their logos in recent years to better reflect their whole community and highlight inclusion, while also working more effectively in today’s digital environments. Our effort is part of that broader movement.

For USA Fencing, this change is specifically about:

  • Making sure our logo is a unified representation of both parafencing and able-bodied fencing, rather than one or the other.
  • Presenting a unified visual identity that says “one team” while still feeling like USA Fencing.
  • Solving practical challenges that come with using two separate logos side by side in small or crowded spaces.

2. What if I own something with the current logo?

Don’t toss those T-shirts, hoodies, bags or banners — you’re more than fine.

Here’s the plan:

  • The new logo will roll out at the start of the 2026–27 season, beginning in August 2026.
  • During that season, there will be a transition period as we update digital platforms, event signage, merchandise and printed materials.
  • Items with the current logo will still be seen all over tournaments and clubs for years to come. Think of them as “vintage” pieces that show where USA Fencing has been and how far we’ve come.
  • Your gear with the current logo remains part of our shared history, and it will never be considered “out of fashion.”

3. How will my vote be used?

This member vote is an important step in choosing our path forward. Here’s how it fits into the process:

  • The Board asked USA Fencing to explore a more inclusive logo that better incorporates parafencing.
  • Staff developed options and gathered input from the Board, USA Fencing committees, including the Athlete Council, Parent Council and others.
  • Now we’re turning to you. We’ll review member feedback from this vote alongside that earlier input to determine which logo will become our primary mark — or whether we’ll continue with the dual lockup.
