COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Global sport, meet global school. Thanks to USA Fencing’s new partnership with Dwight Global Online School, our student‑athletes won’t have to choose between chasing fencing victories and pursuing their college dreams. Instead, they’ll have an educational partner built to adapt to their training, travel and time zones.

USA Fencing just signed a long‑term agreement naming Dwight Global Online School our Official Online School through 2033.

Why Dwight Global, and why now?

USA Fencing wanted to find a school that meets fencers where they are — on the road, on the strip, and online — without sacrificing academic rigor. Dwight Global was the obvious answer, bringing a leading college‑prep program built on over 150 years of history to athletes wherever they are  — plus a willingness to meet families at key moments in the fencing season. Dwight, the first school in the U.S. to be accredited by The World Academy of Sport, sets the platinum standard in online private school education and is an ideal choice for aspiring fencers.

The time horizon (through 2033) gives our community stability, and the plan includes webinars, in‑person presence at national events, and scholarships tailored for USA Fencing families.

We’re kicking off with a USA Fencing x Dwight Global webinar at noon ET on Wednesday, September 24. A second webinar is planned for mid‑October, where Dwight Global will discuss preparation for the college fencing experience..

Between those two dates, Dwight Global will be onsite at the October North American Cup in Salt Lake City, with a team ready to answer questions about Dwight Global’s unique and proven educational formula.

Scholarship opportunities tailored for USA Fencing families are coming soon. Dwight Global, which already counts a number of USA fencers within its ranks, will share eligibility, timing, and application details, and we’ll post those once they’re finalized.

Fencers who have graduated from Dwight include: Juliana Barrett, South African épée fencer, Northwestern University; Race Imboden OLY, two time Olympic team bronze Medalist; Kamara James OLY, U.S. épée fencer, 2004 Olympics, Princeton; Julian Rose, All-American Harvard fencer; and Dwight Smith, three-time All-American while at Columbia as well as a four-time USA National Team member and current Head Coach of Long Island University.

“This partnership gives fencing families a tremendous option for pursuing their educational and fencing goals,” says Phil Andrews, USA Fencing CEO. “Dwight Global’s flexible elite program helps our athletes pursue their dreams in both arenas, and we’re thrilled to lock in this support for the long term.”

"We are thrilled to welcome USA Fencing families," says Dwight Global's Head of School Louisa Childs, "and are committed to providing them unmatched academic opportunities while fully supporting the careers of these talented student-athletes."

This new chapter follows a change in the online‑school landscape. With Sora Schools’ acquisition of AEON School, our partnership with AEON (previously Avenues Online) is concluding. We’re grateful for AEON’s support of fencing families in recent seasons, including scholarship programming, and we wish their students continued success as they transition to Sora.

Stay tuned for registration links, scholarship details, and ways to connect with the Dwight Global team online and at events.
