Call for Candidates:
This Spring, the General Membership will be voting for the offices of President and Treasurer for the next quadrennium and four members (parent, elite coach, and two (2) at-large) of the Board of Directors for the next two years. The qualifications and principal duties for these positions are outlined in the USA Fencing’s Bylaws which can be found at http://usfencing.org/resources/documents/us-fencing-bylaws.
The Nominating Committee is accepting applications for these positions until Monday, December 5, 2011 at 5 PM EST at the following address: Nomcomm@usfencing.org. Please include the following materials with your application: (1) resume; (2) a short statement indicating your qualification for the desired position as defined in Bylaws; (3) involvement with fencing; (4) a short statement of intent/cover letter, and (5) a signed copy of the mandatory Affirmation, described below, which should be found attached on this posting. Applications without any of these materials will not be reviewed.
An applicant may apply for more than one position if he or she meets the qualification requirement as defined in the USA Fencing bylaws. However, any applicant may only be nominated for one office, so please indicate preferences if you wish to be considered for more than one position. The Nominating Committee will select two candidates for President, two candidates for Treasurer, two candidates for Parent board member, two candidates for Elite Coach board member, and four candidates for At-Large board member. Pursuant to Article IX, Section 15, each person selected by the Nominating Committee shall sign, date, and submit a qualifying affirmation indicating their willingness to serve the interests of USA Fencing. The names of the nominees and any report published by the Nominating Committee will be issued on the USA Fencing website by January 15, 2012.
