USA Fencing and Snowday Launch New Partnership With First‑of‑Its‑Kind Extracurricular Guide for Fencers
by Bryan Wendell
This open data initiative will generate a free, curated guide to top extracurricular and enrichment programs — built from the experiences of high school fencers nationwide.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Fencing and Snowday, a free search engine of high school enrichment opportunities, have joined forces to empower fencers far beyond the strip by developing for us a compilation of the USA Fencing community’s most popular extracurriculars and enrichment programs.
A Snowday survey link will be sent soon to every USA Fencing member in grades 9–12, and recent graduates, inviting them to share the activities that made the biggest impact on their high‑school journey. Snowday’s research team will then anonymize and analyze the responses, transforming them into a searchable opportunity list and insights report for the entire fencing community.
The result: a one‑of‑a‑kind playbook for future fencing families to navigate the vast landscape of extracurricular options and understand the pathways today’s elite fencers followed to succeed.
“USA Fencing is committed to supporting our members well beyond competition results,” says USA Fencing CEO Phil Andrews. “By partnering with Snowday on this high school survey, we’re distilling the collective wisdom of the Class of ’25 into a living roadmap that will help tomorrow’s fencers make smart choices about how they spend their time, energy and passion.”
How the Survey Works
- High schoolers complete the five‑minute questionnaire that will be sent soon.
- Snowday’s team anonymizes the data, then aggregates the most impactful activities, programs and mentors.
- Findings are compiled into an easy‑to‑search Snowday list plus a downloadable insights report — free to all USA Fencing families.
Why Snowday?
Snowday is 100% free and used by over 170,00 families since launching last year. Its powerful search tools, informative program pages and crowd‑sourced reviews help students and parents unearth learning experiences that align with both schedule and budget.
What’s Next
This extracurricular compilation is only the opening move.
In the months ahead, USA Fencing members can look forward to exclusive Snowday webinars, deep‑dive workshops and more to help you level up your extracurricular and achieve your educational goals. Together, USA Fencing and Snowday are transforming downtime into growth-time.
