US Fencing's Executive Leadership now complete!

The US Fencing National Office has successfully completed its search for a new Director of Finance and Business Services, as well as for the new Director of High Performance Programs.  This concludes a two-month process dedicated to completing the executive leadership team of the organization.  Amazingly, we had over 30 qualified candidates for the Finance position and 13 for the Performance position.

On Thursday, Mar 19th, Teri Holt of Colorado Springs, CO will officially join the staff heading up the Finance and Business Services department.  Teri brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having served as a VP with Bank of America from 1990-1996, and then as a Senior Systems manager and Application Development Manager with Fleet Boston Financial from 1996-2003.  Teri is an avid cyclist, and enjoys teaching spin classes at the local YMCA in her free time.

On Friday, March 20th, Michael Pederson will make the transition from serving most recently as the Women's Foil National Team Coach where he led the team to a Silver Medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, to becoming the new Director of High Performance programs.  Mike's vision for the future of fencing in the US, his well established support from the USOC, and his experience and existing understanding of the dynamics of the National coaching staff position him well to hit the ground running.  Though he will officially be in his new role prior to the Jr. World Championships in Belfast, he will complete his tenure with the Women's Foil Program at that event.
