Last month, 40 club teams and nearly 700 fencers competed in the USACFC National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hosted by the United States Association of Collegiate Fencing Clubs, the club championship is the largest annual collegiate fencing event in the world.

The two-day event, held April 5-6 at the Knoxville Convention Center, included team and individual competitions in epee, foil and saber. In addition to being named to the All American Fencing Team, the top twelve finishers in each event received a certificate of recognition presented by USA Fencing.

“We are pleased to congratulate this year’s All American Fencing Team and all those who participated in the 2014 USAFC National Championships,” said USA Fencing Executive Director Kris Ekeren. “We look forward to working with the USACFC to help grow the sport of fencing and bring more competition opportunities to collegiate athletes.”

The USACFC National Championships began in 2003 to give fencers attending schools without an NCAA fencing program the opportunity to participate in a national team competition. The 2015 event will be held at Liberty Fencing Club in Bucks County, Pa.
