Dallas Hosts December NAC This Weekend

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Athletes as young as 12 and older than 80 will fence for 42 titles this weekend when the December North American Cup comes to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas this weekend.

Competition will be held in Division I, Division II and Veteran events from Friday through Monday.

The Division I lineup includes the following 2012 Olympians and 2014 Senior World Team members:

  • Tim Morehouse (New York City, N.Y. / saber), 2008 Olympic team silver medalist
  • Miles Chamley-Watson (New York City, N.Y. / foil), 2012 Olympian and 2013 Senior World Champion
  • Nicole Ross (New York City, N.Y. / foil), 2012 Olympian and four-time Senior World Team member
  • Ben Bratton (New York City, N.Y. / epee), 2012 Senior World Team Champion
  • Ibtihaj Muhammad (Maplewood, N.J. / saber), 2014 Senior World Team Champion
  • Margaret Lu (Greenwich, Conn. / foil), two-time Senior World team member
  • Jason Pryor (Colorado Springs, Colo. / epee), two-time Senior World Team member
  • Katharine Holmes (Washington, D.C. / epee), two-time Senior World Team member
  • Sabrina Massialas (San Francisco, Calif. / foil), 2014 Senior World Team member
  • Anna Van Brummen (Houston, Texas / epee), 2014 Senior World Team member

In addition to featuring 2016 Olympic hopefuls, the December NAC is the first qualifying event of the new season for athletes looking to compete at the 2015 Veteran World Championships for athletes ages 50 and older.

Among the veteran competitors to watch are the following individual medalists from the 2014 Vet Worlds:

  • Jane Eyre (Swedesboro, N.J. / 60-69 saber), four-time individual Veteran World Champion
  • Ellen O’Leary (Decatur, Ga. / +70 epee, foil and saber), two-time individual Veteran World Champion
  • Jennette Starks-Faulkner (Middletown, Conn. / 60-69 foil and saber), 2014 Veteran World Champion
  • Wang Yung (Bellevue, Wash. / 60-69 saber), 2011 Veteran World Champion and 2014 Veteran World silver medalist
  • David Seuss (Charlestown, Mass. / 60-69), 2013 Veteran World Champion and 2014 Veteran World bronze medalist
  • Anne-Marie Walters (Parkland, Fla. / 60-69 foil), five-time individual Veteran World medalist
  • Patricia Bedrosian (Malibu, Calif. / +70 epee and foil), three-time individual Veteran World medalist
  • Lydia Mazorol (Simi Valley, Calif. / 50-59 saber), two-time individual Veteran World medalist
  • Linda Dunn (Indianapolis, Ind. / 60-69 saber), two-time individual Veteran World medalist
  • Jonathan Jefferies (Alameda, Calif. / +70 epee), 2014 Veteran World bronze medalist
  • Catherine Radle (Atlanta, Ga. / +70 epee, foil and saber), 2014 Veteran World bronze medalist
