USA Fencing Announces Tournament Locations for Spring 2016 Tournaments

The Richmond Convention Center will be home to the Div I Nationals in 2016.

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce that the cities have been selected for the 2016 spring national events season.

The 2016 Junior Olympic Fencing Championships will be held from Feb. 12-15 in Cleveland, Ohio at the newly renovated Cleveland Convention Center which hosted the 2013 November North American Cup. The Junior Olympics will feature many of the top U20 and U17 fencers in the nation in their final domestic competition before the 2016 Junior and Cadet World Championships.

From March 11-14, the North American Cup circuit will travel to Salt Lake City for the March NAC. Held at the Salt Palace, home of the Main Press Center for the 2002 Olympic Games, the March NAC will include events for Division II, Y10, Y12, Y14, Y14 team and wheelchair athletes.

The 2016 Division I and Wheelchair National Championships as well as the April North American Cup will take place in Richmond, Va. and will feature a celebration honoring the athletes who qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Team. The tournament will be held from April 8-11 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center and is expected to be one of the final opportunities for fencing fans to watch Team USA compete on U.S. soil before leaving for the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
