Fencing Coach (Sabre, Epee), Way of the Sword (Ridgefield, Conn.)

Job Description:

Work in picturesque Ridgefield CT. At WAY we foster a team spirit of cooperativeness and community designed to support students in their progressive development from entry level to National competitor. Our facility is state of art with nine 17-meter grounded strips. 

Fencing Coach positions full or part-time:
Sabre wanted
Epee wanted

Responsibilities:

Run youth development programs for Y10 to Juniors. Deliver private lessons systematically and consistently. Reinforce instruction in group environments. Measure and evaluate tournament performance and adjust students instruction as needed. Follow and apply best practices for physical conditioning and training. Be supportive.

Qualifications:

Enjoys working with kids and parents. Has a positive caring attitude. The ideal candidate will have highly competitive fencing experience be it domestic and or international. Ability to manage student caseload from 15 to 30 students per week. Must be comfortable working with a cooperative team focused on the betterment of each student and sustainability of the club.

Additional Information:

Rogue [independant] coaches need not apply. We are not a "strip club" where you come to give lessons and leave. Coaches work specified days from 3 to 6 hours per day. Coaches here demonstrate a willingness to learn and become better at their craft by attending tournaments, seminars, obtaining certifications and constantly improving in this ever-changing sport.
