Year of birth: 1960
Occupation: Attorney
Hometown: Kew Gardens Hills, NY

Do you coach? No
When did you start fencing? My sophomore year of high school in 1974.
What weapon did you fence? I started with Foil.  I added Epee in the late 1980s.
Who was a major influence on your fencing career? Gary Copeland
What fencing club did you represent? Northern Colorado Fencers
What do you consider as your greatest fencing accomplishment?  A top 24 finish at a Div I NAC
Did you fence in college? Yes. I fenced on the Johns Hopkins Women’s Varsity Team
Do you still fence? I’d like to come back but I haven’t fenced in years.
When did you begin to referee? 1986
Why do you continue to referee?  I love the sport of fencing.  I want to contribute by doing the best job I can, and giving the fencers a positive experience on the strip.  I also would like to be a role model for women who would like to referee.
Who was the major influence on your officiating career? Ralph Zimmerman and Gerrie Baumgart
What are your thoughts regarding the role of the referee? A referee’s job is to keep order on the strip and make sure the rules are followed.  If a referee does their job well bouts run smoothly and the referee’s presence is barely remembered by the participants in the bout.
