(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce the 2019-20 Regional Recognition Program winners.

Recognizing more than 550 athletes for their achievements at regional events during the last season, the Regional Recognition Program honors the top three fencers during the season on the Regional Youth Circuit (Y10, Y12 and Y14), Regional Junior and Cadet Circuit (cadet and junior) and the Regional Open Circuit (Division IA, Division II and veteran). Recognized athletes receive a gold, silver or bronze patch in honor of their achievement.

This season, 83 fencers earned more than one patch with Keira Castaneda (Clyde Hill, Wash.) and Caterina Fedeli (Sandy Springs, Ga.) each earning three.

A 12 year old foil fencer who trains at Rain City Fencing Center, Castaneda won gold in the Region 1 RCC standings as well as silver in the Y12 RYC standings and bronze at Y14.

Fencing in Region 6 for Athletic Club Northeast, 11-year-old Fedeli earned both the Y10 and Y12 foil golds and took silver in Y14.

Winners spanned 50 divisions and 187 clubs were represented with Northwest Fencing Center earning the most patches at 25.

Patches will be mailed in early August. The full list of winners can be found below.
