COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Daytona Beach is calling — who’s ready to answer?
USA Fencing is on the hunt for spirited volunteers to lend a hand at the thrilling 2023 FIE Veteran World Championships at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The tournament runs from Oct. 11–16, but volunteer opportunities actually begin with airport assistance on Sunday, Oct. 8. While those in USA Fencing’s Region 6 will have the shortest journey to the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, anyone from any region is welcome to sign up to volunteer.
This is more than a chance to become a difference-making volunteer. You’ll also serve as an ambassador for USA Fencing and for the United States. With fencers from more than 50 countries expected to attend, you’ll embody the passion and hospitality that the U.S. fencing community has to offer as we welcome the world to the beautiful Florida coast.
This event will mark a return to USA Fencing’s long history of hosting international fencing tournaments. The 2023 Vet Worlds will be the first FIE (International Fencing Federation) event held in the United States since the pandemic began. Fans of the sport will remember that the FIE awarded the 2021 Vet Worlds to the United States, but because of mandatory quarantine periods and travel regulations, the event was first postponed and later canceled.
But now, we're back and ready to make history! And we need you to be a part of it.
