A Note on Attendance Requirements and Time Commitments
Committee and resource group terms are two years, as adopted by the Board of Directors in 2024. While time commitments will vary depending on the needs of USA Fencing and the charge of the group, volunteers should expect to attend regular committee meetings, contribute their expertise and bring their enthusiasm and perspective to the organization.
Please note that there are attendance requirements for committee members. Applicants are encouraged to provide as much background information as possible about their experience and qualifications to strengthen their application.
What Happens After I Apply and If I'm Selected?
Applications will be reviewed and recommendations will be made by the Committee Selection Task Force. Appointments will be made by the USA Fencing Board of Directors during the Board's annual meeting in September.
Upon acceptance of a position on a committee or resource group, all individuals must complete the following within 30 days:
- Current USA Fencing membership (+CheckEd, +Coach or Coach)
- Current background check
- Completed SafeSport training
- Completed Conflict of Interest form
What if I Am Already on a Committee or Resource Group?
All sitting committee or resource group members will need to reapply to maintain their seat on that particular group (unless their term explicitly expires in 2027).
