U.S Women's Foil Team Places Eighth in Budapest

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – The U.S. Women’s Foil Team finished eighth at the Budapest World Cup in Hungary on Sunday.

The team of Lee Kiefer (Lexington, Ky.), Nzingha Prescod (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Doris Willette (Lafayette, Calif.) and Nicole Ross (New York City, N.Y.) was seeded fifth going into the tournament – a ranking which earned the squad a bye into the table of 16 where Team USA defeated China, 45-40.

After a 45-43 loss to Poland in the quarter-finals, Team USA dropped to the 5th – 8th place table.

Team USA lost to Hungary, 43-35, in the first bout and Germany, 45-42, in the second to finish eighth overall.
