Re: Plan To Get Us Going Again
It’s a fun and crazy time here in Colorado. We want to give you a quick update on immediate plans to get the International office back on track and hopefully to improve our responsiveness and efficiency.
KAREN KUHLMAN has been moved over from the events area to be the main contact in the office on logistics, travel, entries, FIE licenses and all the various trips that are coming up right away. She is already doing a great job of figuring out where the holes are and what needs to be done to get everyone entered and ready to compete. She can be reached at k.kuhlman@usfencing.org and though away for some of the Christmas period will keep moving all this forward.
TANYA BROWN AND CARLA MAE RICHARDS have updated all the points lists and will keep us straight on selection procedures, athlete handbook matters and any on-going points issues. Please contact Tanya (t.brown@usfencing.org) with any questions.
I will handle all the USOC issues, including Athlete Support, Camps, Games Issues and relations with our Sports Partnership Team there. I will also handle any of the Wheel Chair issues that arise.
CHRISTINE SIMMONS is doing a little of everything, as she always does, and will also handle USADA issues.
We are bringing ANDREA LAGAN back on a contract to help us organize the World Junior and Cadet Championships in Mer Morte, Jordan in April. Andrea will probably be with us two days each week. It will be a real bonus for us to have someone on the staff, in addition to Greg and Tanya, who know Fencing, Fencers and the issues we need to understand and to address to be an effective organization.
GREG will oversee all of this.
We will do our absolute best to do things better than ever before, to treat all of you in a friendly and supportive manner and go get the very complex January and February events and program well organized.
