Chamley-Watson and Massialas Earn Top-32 Results at St. Petersburg Foil Grand Prix

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – London Olympians Miles Chamley-Watson (New York City, N.Y.) and Alexander Massialas (San Francisco, Calif.) each advanced to the table of 32 at the St. Petersburg Foil Grand Prix in Russia on Sunday.

Exempt from pools as the fourth seed in the tournament, Chamley-Watson defeated Maxime Pauty (FRA), 15-13, in the table of 64. He lost in the table of 32, however, to 2012 Olympic Champion Sheng Lei (CHN), 15-11, and finished the day in 18th place.

Massialas began the tournament as the 12th seed and earned a 15-11 win over Benoit Journet (FRA); however, he finished in 21st after a 15-12 loss to eventual bronze medalist Dmitry Komissarov (RUS).

London Olympian Race Imboden (Brooklyn, N.Y.) lost to Klod Yunes (UKR), 15-9, in the table of 64 and placed 35th overall.
