USA Fencing members are advised that regional events will resume beginning on Feb. 26 and will include Regional Open, Regional Youth and Regional Junior and Cadet Circuit tournaments.
All regional events may only be held as long as they are in compliance with local and state guidelines. These tournaments will be open to participants within the region only through March 11.
Regional events will be open to competitors from other regions beginning on March 12; however, athletes may only earn regional points at events within their region at RYC and RJCC tournaments. Athletes may compete and earn points in ROCs outside their home region beginning March 12. Super Youth and Super Junior and Cadet Circuit tournaments can begin for the season on March 26.
The North American Cup circuit will begin no earlier than April and will be conducted in accordance with local and state guidelines.
More details on the national events schedule will be released in the coming weeks, including Return to Fencing guidelines regarding maximum event size, maximum number of individuals allowed in the venue and safety protocols for all participants, including athletes, coaches, referees and tournament staff.
Due to the reduced number of regional and national tournaments during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, the Tournament Committee is working to expand qualifying paths for the 2021 National Championships. Further details will be released in the coming weeks.
