COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Just imagine: The world’s best under-20 men’s saber fencers — a group almost certain to include future Olympic and world champions — fencing in your community.
In just four months, that dream will become a reality for one lucky club, university or event organizer in the U.S.
The FIE (International Fencing Federation) has awarded USA Fencing a Junior Men’s Saber World Cup tournament for January 2024, and we’re looking to partner with a club, university or event organizer to put on the event.
That means that this Jan. 20–21, 2024, talented young fencers from around the world could be battling for medals and world ranking points in your city or town.
Hosting a Junior Men’s Saber World Cup will do more than shine a spotlight on your club or community. As the host organization, you’ll also retain all registration revenue received from hosting the tournament.
As hosts, your responsibilities will include:
Securing a venue for the event
Providing all required equipment for the competition
Arranging hotel rooms for staff and attendees
Coordinating with the National Office on officials' travel arrangements
If you’re interested in bidding for this prestigious tournament, use the form at the link here.
Bids will be accepted through Sept. 15, 2023, and the host organization will be selected by Sept. 29, 2023?
