Nobuo Bravo Finishes Fifth at Bratislava Junior Foil World Cup

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Nobuo Bravo (San Francisco, Calif.) earned his best international result on Sunday when the 2013 Junior World Team member and Penn State sophomore placed fifth at the Bratislava Junior Foil World Cup in Slovakia.

After an undefeated run in the pools, Bravo was seeded fourth in the direct elimination tables where he opened with 15-9 wins over Nikola Petrovic (SRB) and Stephen Mageras (Darien, Conn.)

Bravo advanced to the quarter-finals after a 15-11 victory in his table of 32 bout against Kyosuke Matsuyama (JPN) in the table of 32 and a 15-9 win against Jeremy Keryhuel (FRA) in the table of 16.

In the quarters, Bravo lost to world No. 1 Alexander Choupenitch (CZE), 15-9.
