(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – The USA Fencing membership and event platform, member.usfencing.org, will become home to registration not only for international and national tournaments, but regional events as well.

The updated database will launch in October and will allow fencers to register for regional point tournaments in the same online platform as their membership and national event registration. The new registration system will include access to Super Youth Circuit, Regional Open Circuit, Regional Youth Circuit and Regional Junior and Cadet Circuit events.

USA Fencing values the community of business owners and volunteers who dedicate their time to the creation of websites and database systems that help grow and promote our sport. As such, USA Fencing leadership has begun conversations with the owners of several of these sites and companies with future outreach planned in the coming months.

In particular, USA Fencing maintains a positive relationship with AskFred.net and the site’s operators, Peet Sasaki and Michael Green, with the two organizations exploring options to develop a partnership in the future. AskFred has been a valuable resource to the fencing community and will continue to host the registration pages for regional events through the remainder of 2017.

Regional tournament organizers also will use the platform to upload results which will appear directly in each USA Fencing member’s profile. This will allow for faster updates to classification changes and accurate ratings.

Tournament organizers will receive payment directly from USA Fencing via wire transfer with payments made both before and after the competition.

Admin fees for regional event registrations are being finalized, but will be comparable to those of other fencing registration platforms.

Additional details regarding regional event registration will be made available in the coming weeks to regional tournament organizers and on www.usfencing.org.
