COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The next big point for fencing won’t be scored on a strip — it’ll be on the airwaves. USA Fencing has secured a multi-million-dollar promotional partnership with iHeartMedia that will introduce the sport to millions and steer newcomers to usafencing.org/tryfencing to find beginner classes at local clubs.

“This partnership with iHeartMedia is a powerful step forward for fencing in the United States,” says Phil Andrews, USA Fencing’s CEO. “It will introduce our sport to new audiences and — most importantly — connect them to the incredible community that our clubs have built.”

What Is iHeartMedia?

iHeartMedia is a national audio company with a massive everyday reach across the United States. It operates hundreds of local radio stations, the iHeartRadio app, one of the largest podcast networks, live events, and digital platforms. This footprint gives USA Fencing the ability to invite potential fencers — of all ages and backgrounds — to try the sport and find a nearby club.

What Can Clubs and Members Expect?

  • The campaign will run across iHeartMedia podcasts, streaming audio, digital banners, and select broadcast inventory, directing people to usafencing.org/tryfencing.
  • The creative will make it clear that kids, teens, and adults can start any time, often with loaner gear available for the first few sessions.
  • The campaign is designed to send interested newcomers to USA Fencing’s “Try Fencing” hub and the club directory so they can quickly locate beginner classes near them.

What’s in It for iHeartMedia?

As part of the partnership, USA Fencing will recognize iHeartMedia across our events and channels. The package includes visibility at national events (including finals‑strip signage in the broadcast/livestream shot), title sponsorship of the Super Junior & Cadet Circuit (SJCC) series, promotion through USA Fencing’s owned channels, cross‑promotion with our podcasts, and a TV spot within USA Fencing’s owned inventory.

How Can Clubs Get Ready?

  1. Confirm that your address, contact info, website, and beginner‑class details are current in the USA Fencing club directory.
  2. Publish clear “Intro to Fencing” or beginner‑series start dates and an easy sign‑up path on your website and socials.
  3. If you provide equipment for beginners, state that plainly — it removes a major barrier.
  4. Create a short email and phone reply so inquiries get fast, friendly answers.
  5. Welcome all ages and abilities. If you offer parafencing or adaptive options, feature that information prominently.
